ArchMC Statistics

ArchMC caters over 100k players monthly, constantly adapting round its growing playerbase. However, they lack competitive gameplay. So, Arch Statistics is born.

The Breakdown

Within the Minecraft space, servers are constantly looking to seek your attention, time and willingness to stay on their server. This in return increases playercounts, potential customers and ultimately creates a loyal fanbase.

ArchMC Dashboard Overview

The challenge wasn’t to introduce new mechanics, but to instrument existing ones which felt natural, performant and easily scalable to other gamemodes. Without reinventing the wheel, statistics show a 15% increase in playtime from competition-based gamemodes. A stats board may feel like a one-off gimmick, however PvP & UGC gamemodes highly value community-driven goals.

That said, I held an interview with @iSkinny, an administrator for ArchMC. He gave a fundamental insight into the ongoing issues with Arch’s gameplay and how I could potentially help to fix this. [Video showing ts]

System Design & Architecture

First, further research on ArchMC had to be done. It was clear that their most popular gamemodes (Survival and Lifesteal) had the most in-game progression, gathering hundreds of users daily. With that said, I also began designing the structure of the site, breaking it down into bite-sized achievable milestones.

The UI was carefully crafted to seamlessly fit into the ArchMC UI Ecosystem. Although it may just look like the same font and colour scheme was used, components were upgraded, adapted and catered not only for ArchMC but for wider Minecraft networks looking to incorporate this within their server.
