How Aqlam Is Redefining the Muslim App Experience
"What a great initiative Alhamdulilah. I've seen fights happen as masjids because phones go off. Insha'Allah this will greatly help."
During prayer, its way too common to see and hear the swarm of notifications coming from your mobile devices. Me and my co-founder thought we'd find a fix to this.
What we do
Aqlam is a Muslim Prayer app designed to not only help you pray, but to help you regain control of your time.
Due to the rapid rise of Social Media, many individuals are left distracted and our minds tend to shift away from what truly matters. With Ramadan 2026 up and running, we thought we’d make a change in how we all interact with our mobile devices - aiming to impact many across the globe.
At the time of writing, the app is still in development and not ready to take off running. However, this article aims to showcase its potential alongside how it can benefit yourself and others.
How we’re different
Modern muslim day apps are often plagued with ads, subscription models, popups not even remotely directed to what the intended purpose of the app was. This deep frustration is what led to us building an app which works well through design, and is made for people like you and I.

With the fundamental values of the app being found right in the design, this gained the interest of numerous people as we look to continue to grow.
Aims and Objectives
Goals and objectives constantly change as the business progress. However, here’s some of the aims I wish to embark on after developing the app:
- Help people regain focus of their prayer, regardless what situation they’re in.
- Build a meaninful, knitted community to gain feedback and continue to improve.
- Keep people using Aqlam!
With that said, we hope you see our ambitions through the same lens as us, and we’re looking forward to introducing even better features in the upcoming weeks.
